Private Residental

Bedroom Redesign, Mallusk

Client: Private

Location: Mallusk, Northern Ireland

In this project two previously separate and underutilised rooms in the home were redesigned into a connected family suite. Originally the two spaces were divided North/South, whereas with a little creativity both of the newly created spaces now take in the lake view and are flooded with warm natural light.

A vibrant feature-wall subtly separates the dressing area, while concealed pocket-doors let the two rooms flow together, (or close off for privacy when needed). Textiles were selected to complement the landscape, with bespoke upholstery and vibrant layered curtains adding depth and softness. Every finish and every light-fitting whether functional or decorative, was meticulously planned from the outset. Some of the notable features of this project include the textured wallcovering applied to the ceiling, the marker lights at the floor and around the modernised coving, the open closet storage system which is open but not visible from the rest of the space, and of course, the bespoke upholstered dressing-mirror. This design was the first ever project from Northern Ireland to be shortlisted by the British Institute of Interior Design.
